How to reach us and make the most of Bordeaux

Arriving
By car
Laharpe car park is 50 m away — 59 avenue d’Eysines, around €9/day. 79 spaces. Open 24/7.
Libération car park is 200 m away — 256 avenue de la Libération, around €9/day. 134 spaces. Open 24/7.
You can also try free street parking along the park (limited spots) or in the free zone 500 m away (highlighted in green on the map).
BY PLANE
The easiest transfer from the airport is taxi (around €35) or Uber (around €25). The ride takes 20 minutes.
You can take the tram (€2 per person) but the journey lasts about 1h10.
BY TRAIN
From Saint-Jean station, take Tram line D towards Cantinolle or Hippodrome and stop at “Barrière du Médoc”. Then walk 5 minutes to Les Pénates. Total travel time: about 25 minutes.

During your stay
We welcome you every day in a relaxed, convivial atmosphere.
Arrival is at any time thanks to the access code sent the day before.
Sylvain and Maria Luisa live on site and are available whenever needed.
For safety reasons linked to the pool, we cannot accommodate children.
Check-in from 3 pm (let us know if you need an earlier arrival). Check-out before 11 am.
A luggage room is available if you arrive early or leave later.
Breakfast is served between 8:15 and 10 am, earlier on request.
Housekeeping takes place every three days; feel free to ask for extra linen or any specific need.
The pool opens mid-May to the end of September (weather permitting), from 10 am to 8 pm, exclusively for guests.

Getting around
Tram
The Barrière du Médoc stop (line D) is 5 minutes on foot. It reaches the historic centre in 10 minutes and the station in 20 minutes. Fare: €1.70 (purchase at the station or via the TBM app).
Shared bikes
Bordeaux is perfect for cycling. The V³ bike-sharing station is at 67 rue du Bocage (3 minutes away). The Pony app also offers pay-as-you-go bikes widely available around the house.
Long-term rentals
For more comfort, Véloce (Chartrons district) rents bikes: €16/day for a standard bike, €33 for an e-bike. About 15–20 minutes by tram or 10 minutes by bike from Les Pénates—ideal for exploring vineyards and the river.
Car sharing
Three Getaround vehicles are parked at Laharpe car park, 50 metres away. Remember to validate your driving licence in the app. Around €50 per day, perfect for a day trip to Arcachon Bay or the vineyards.
Bordeaux CityPass
CityPass includes unlimited transport (tram, bus, shuttle) plus access to numerous museums and monuments—great value for a short break.

Neighbourhood life
Les Pénates Bordelaises stand in an elegant residential area a stone’s throw from Parc Bordelais, the city’s largest park. Enjoy the calm while staying close to the historic centre.
All shops are within 300 metres: Monoprix, Naturalia, greengrocer, cheesemonger, Italian deli, wine merchant.
Five minutes away, Calix wine bar & restaurant is a local favourite. For lunch, L’Embouscade or Le Petit Jardin are great picks. You’ll also find plenty of take-away options (sushi, Korean, salads, Casa Faiola). Mi Cielo bakery and Fromagerie des Loups are not to be missed.
